Sixty years later, the 'few' again defended the British Isles against the onslaught of the LuftWaffe - SUCCESSFULLY!
(But not without paying a heavy price, both in the air and on the ground!)
In Frame Four, we were operating with many last minute replacement pilots, but still managed to hold our own for a while. In my first hop I found myself and my wingy up high and behind the LW raid. RX stayed high and made the Bf109's watch him while I burned my way through the bombers, pinging a couple and getting the kill on one of them.
As I reached the field I found a lone Bf109 capping it, miraculously not being hit by the ack. My guns did what the ack hadn't and the field was clear - till a Ju88 came in low. Ack did him in before I could get many rounds in, but his gunner pinged me up pretty well, so it was RTB time.
In hop two I pinged up a 109 up high, then decided to go down a bit sooner than I would normally, and I found myself tangled with a pair of 109's on the deck. They banged me around for a while, then I went into a spin at low alt and decided to let my plane make a smoking hole in the ground without me.

Here are some screen shots - reduced in size, of course.
Above left: Diving through the battle shooting Ju88's - that shoot back!
Above right: Ack-proof Bf109E I found capping our field - and destroyed.
Above left: Gunned Ju88 came in, smoked me, but died in ack before I could get enough rounds into him for a kill.
Above right: Managed to set this one down amid traffic and picked up a fresh one.
Above left: While still up high in hop #2, I pinged a Bf109, then decided instead of dragging, I was going down into the action this time.
Above right: Unfortunately, this decision did not turn out so well for me as I found plenty of 109's who took an instant dislike to me. Was it something I said?
Above left: Not flying carefully enough to avoid getting pinged up AND going into a spin, it was back in the silk again, while the victors do fly-by. SALUTE!
Above right: Final scoreboard shows extra landings for art loading & an extra bail for the dump in Frame One.
The 'crash' was when I was killed after bailing - which was a legitimate strategic move on the LW part.
My kills were four Bf109, two Ju88, one Bf110

All in all it was a fun fight, and although outnumbered and outgunned, we managed to keep the LW from destroying ALL of England - although we were short a few fields and factories by the time it was over.

SALUTE TO ALL INVOLVED ON BOTH SIDES
