The house I stayed at for my beach vacation came with its own live entertainment system. The back porch faced the harbor and was the dock for the boat. There were lights along the edges that shone on the water, and while enjoying the night air I discovered I was not alone. This beast was about four feet long (although when I first looked down and saw it I had the fleeting impression that it was about twice that size as my heart skipped a beat or two), and appeared to want something. It kept swimming around the dock in the light, leaning over to lift one eye out of the water to stare at me. I watched for a bit, then went inside to get my camera. I took about half a dozen shots, but unfortunately only a few came out.
