Operation Pedestal, the defense of Malta and it's relief fleet, has completed Frame One. My own performance was somewhat less than stellar, having only gotten one kill out of a whole load of ammunition. The only saving grace was that I did complete my bombing mission and survive, with a tricky P40 landing on a carrier. Hop Number two didn't go as well, as I dove into a hornets nest of Bf109's.

The most exciting part about this film is trying to count all the kills DNGR was taking behind me and SCD(R) as the 109's lined up for him!

Frame one snapshots
  • Top Left - We hit Palermo hard with eggs moving too fast for the LW to stop us, and DNGR was picking them off behind me!
  • Above - I managed to beat DNGR to one Bf109 while capping the fleet for my only kill of the frame
  • Left - Our second raid on Pal was just DNGR and me, and although we hit our target, we came in too low to outrace the herd of Bf109's that were waiting for us
Frame two snapshots
  • Above - In Frame 2 our first CAG raid went without incident, but on our second hop we had to fight our way out of Malta - which allowed me the chance to shoot Ubbar down!
  • Right - I found myself at CAG with nothing but LW for company, and I missed the hangar (destroyed an FP that was next to it though!)
Frame three snapshots
  • Above - In Frame 3 our first CAG raid again went without incident, and our second hop was a pick-up game of all the P40's still alive. It was a beautiful sight seeing ten 'Hawks lifting together!
  • Right - A target of opportunity that was too good to pass up was this He111 that was just lifting from CAG as I got there. I missed the gas can with my egg, but I got this big fella!
