sce_SSCV 4 fighter * One of the Coral Sea's fighters, up close. It's armed to the teeth, trust me. Who knows what pesky, brain-eating aliens might be encountered out there! * 995 x 654 * (329KB)
sce_The bridge 1 * This series, simply called The Bridge, are a series of lighting studies on this simple scene. I used a covered bridge model (by X), and the lady in the foreground is wearing a dress modeled by X. I did the rest. I wanted to try something other than a sci-fi scene, though in this case I lit the composition in some interesting ways to provide ambience. * 1024 x 768 * (158KB)
sce_The bridge 2 * This is a fairly well-lit day scene. Nothing spooky here. * 1024 x 768 * (173KB)
sce_The bridge 3 * Another angle on this lighting scene. The most obvious flaw in this composition is the sharp, green riverbank. It should be more gradual, but I would have had to do some major work to eliminate that problem, so I left well-enough alone. * 1024 x 768 * (172KB)
sce_The bridge 4 * The moody version. The sun is positioned behind the windows of the covered bridge and is lighting the water with a red glow. * 1024 x 768 * (145KB)

sce_Veneratio humanus * The other of the two compositions earning an Honorable Mention in the DAZ Future of Digital Art contest. This scene took me weeks to create, and there's too much to explain about it from a techie standpoint. I learned a great deal building it too. The scene depicts an Armageddon-like situation. Alien versus Man. Who will win? The soldier doesn't look scared though. * 1120 x 747 * (125KB)
sky_crowded sky * A sky that one might see if one lived near the center of the galaxy. Pretty... and pretty crowded... I created this solely in Photoshop, with filters and brushwork. * 1024 x 768 * (649KB)
sky_galactic core * Another Photoshop composition. I used this as a backdrop for both the colony ship and the Coral Sea series. * 1024 x 768 * (359KB)
ter_alien shores * I creaetd this and the following terrains completely in Terragen (a freeware utility). That program, btw, is simply amazing. Here we see something that does not exist on this Earth, though it's certainly earthlike. I wish I could go there! * 640 x 480 * (140KB)
ter_barren gorge * Another Terragen landscape. This is reminiscent of the Martian surface, but the running water tells us that it must have been a long time ago... * 1024 x 768 * (469KB)

ter_down to the sea * Just another pretty landscape modeled in Terragen. Somewhat moody, but with some nice colors in it. * 1024 x 768 * (79KB)
ter_glacier lakes * Glaciers, yes. But is this on Earth? Perhaps not, considering that there are two suns in the sky. This lucky planet is far enough away that the double suns of this binary system don't scorch it to a crisp. * 640 x 480 * (56KB)
ter_golden sea * A warm sunset scene. I used this terrain as a backdrop for the Ode to Joy scene shown earlier. * 600 x 400 * (151KB)
